2026 marks the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood. Join Active Minds as we explore the stories of Colorado History. You will learn about the competing claims to Colorado dating back to the Native American populations who originally lived here before the coming of European colonizers. We will also cover the 17-year struggle to become the 38th state as well as the role of mining and oil in the evolution of the state.

Free to attend; please RSVP below to reserve your spot!

About Active Minds: Active Minds started in 2002 as a series of poetry classes in a church basement in Denver. Before long, it grew to include other courses focusing on contemporary global issues, historical themes, and other matters of importance. The original audience was primarily senior citizens, but over time Active Minds has grown to serve adults of all ages through programming at book stores, libraries, and corporations. Today Active Minds provides programming to over 200 organizations and has over 30 highly qualified instructors on staff. John Henderson and Zane Robertson formed Active Minds out of a deeply felt belief that lifelong learning is central to a life well lived. We are inspired by members of our own families who embodied this spirit and dedicate this work to them.

Face Yoga by Penni

Face Yoga is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier. With an added sense of relaxation and wellbeing. It is a combination of face exercises, face massage, face acupressure and face relaxation. Face Yoga helps to naturally soften face and neck lines. It relaxes the mind, body and face. To help people feel the best versions of themselves.   Many of these techniques and practices originate from India, Japan and China. They have been passed down for thousands of years, generation to generation. It has been proven time and time again.   I also teach via Zoom.

Cost is $10 per class
All classes are 11:30 am - 12:15 pm

Face Yoga is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier. With an added sense of relaxation and wellbeing. It is a combination of face exercises, face massage, face acupressure and face relaxation. Face Yoga helps to naturally soften face and neck lines. It relaxes the mind, body and face. To help people feel the best versions of themselves.   Many of these techniques and practices originate from India, Japan and China. They have been passed down for thousands of years, generation to generation. It has been proven time and time again.   I also teach via Zoom.

Cost is $10 per class

On August 19, we will begin in beautiful Dillon (about an hour and 45-minute drive from HTC). We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge at noon. We’ll hop on our bikes and ride around the Dillon Reservoir, which includes climbing Swan Mountain. This 20-mile ride is mostly on paved trail. Please note that this ride has ~1,100 feet of climbing.

After the ride, we’ll get together for a cocktail hour and group dinner in a downtown restaurant or we’ll order in food. You can make overnight accommodations at the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge or other nearby hotels.

On August 20, we will drive to Kayak Overnight Parking in Frisco (6 miles from the Best Western). We’ll meet there at 9:30 AM and ride the scenic bike trail to Fremont Pass and return the way we came. We may stop at the Copper Mountain ski area for ice cream and refreshments. This is a 20-mile ride on paved trail with significant elevation gain. We’ll finish around noon.

Summer Resident Vendor Market
Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, 9am to 12pm at Parking Lot

Summer Resident Vendor Market

Join the Fun!   Get ready for a fun-filled community event right here at home! We're thrilled to invite all residents to take part in our Resident-Only Vendor Market – a relaxed, local pop-up market where neighbors become vendors, and shoppers find unique treasures just steps from their door. Whether you craft, create, bake, build, or grow it – this is your chance to share your talent with the community and maybe make a little extra cash!   What’s the Market All About? This is a casual, community-driven market where residents can set up their own tables and sell handmade goods, crafts, baked treats, garden-fresh produce, art, and more. Think farmers market meets neighborhood block party – low-key, fun, and all about supporting each other!
  • Where: We’ll be blocking off part of the parking lot to turn it into our very own market space.
  • Dates:
    • July 11
    • August 22
    • September 19
  • Market Hours: 9:00 am– 12:00 pm
  • Cost: Absolutely FREE – no vendor fees and free to attend!
  • Weather permitting
  • Shopping is open to both residents and non-residents
VENDORS:
  • Vendors must be HTC residents
  • What You Can Sell: Bring your crafts, handmade items, homegrown fruits and vegetables – anything you'd like to share with the community! (Family-friendly items only, please)
  • Vendor Setup: Begins at 7:00 am– please be ready to sell by 9:00 am
  • Cost: FREE!
  • Please register below. Registration will close 1 week before each market date. You need to register for each date separately.
  • Lifestyle will outline a map of where registered vendors will set up by Wednesday of market week so you'll know where to set up.
  • Vendor location will be determined by random name selector. You may request to set up next to another vendor, but not where you will be placed.
  • What you'll need to bring: Your own table, chair(s), and shade (like a pop-up tent or umbrella)
  • Electricity will not be available
So come join the fun – whether you’re showcasing your homemade jam, selling hand-knit scarves, offering fresh-picked tomatoes, or just browsing and supporting your neighbors. Let’s celebrate summer, community, and creativity together!
