When: The leagues will play every week scheduled by the players. Starting the week of January 26th.
What: 8-Ball using HTC 8-Ball rules and Straight Pool using HTC Straight Pool rules
Format: Basics, a schedule will show who your opponent is for that week. You contact that person and schedule your match. If you cannot play that particular week, call your opponent and reschedule. You can play your matches earlier or later than the published schedule. The only rule is to have all your matches completed and in by the end of the season. As always, it is important to be responsive and responsible for arranging your matches.
Cost: $5 per player, per league. All monies collected will be paid out at season end
(minus expenses). There is a lock box and envelopes in the Billiards Room to deposit your envelope with the $5. Be sure and put your name and “Straight Pool“ or “Weekly 8-Ball” on the envelope.

Hiking Club

The Hiking Club does not meet onsite at the Clubhouse, but is very active hiking in the mountains (mostly) every 7-14 days.
To facilitate communication we have a Facebook Group Page if you are interested.
View the full 2025 Hike Schedule HERE
This year we are offering both our primary and shorter alternative hikes. The Primary hikes will be the longer harder hikes with more elevation gain and occasional steep, rocky areas. The shorter alternate hikes will be shorter (5 miles or less) and less strenuous, with a slower pace with more frequent rest and snack breaks. Some primary hikes will have a shorter option, but most of the shorter hikes will be on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays.
The hike schedule runs between mid-April and late October. Schedules may be adjusted due to weather, trail conditions, road conditions, and hike leader availability.
You are responsible for determining your readiness for the harder hikes. You should be at least moderately fit and acclimated to higher altitude. Some hikes will be at high elevations with elevation gain and rocky conditions. Know your limitations and put safety first!
Hike information will be posted in the monthly HOA Newsletter and the weekly Club e-Blasts. We will no longer be sending emails before each hike. Most of the information will be in a spreadsheet format vs the narrative descriptions we have done in the past.
We meet at the clubhouse parking lot for each hike. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time for organizing carpooling. It is recommended you offer your driver at least $5 to help cover gas, entry fees, and road tolls. Some destinations will require parking passes and/or reservations.
To reduce confusion we have set the following departure times: April-9:00am; May-8:00am; June-early September 7:00am, and mid-September-October 8:00am.
The hike leader is responsible for ensuring all hikers are accounted for. If you determine you cannot finish a hike you MUST advise the hike leader orSweep and you will either be accompanied back to the trailhead or advised to sit in a safe location and wait until the group returns.
Be prepared! Bring plenty of water, snacks, rain gear, sunscreen, hat, etc. Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear. Many of us also find hiking poles helpful. Download or bring trail maps as some trails are marked more clearly than others. Helpful app for trail information is All Trails.
Be respectful! Carry all trash out with you and stay on established trails to avoid erosion. Be respectful of wildlife and follow good trail etiquette.
Have fun!! Hiking isn’t always easy but it IS always worth it.

Just Say Their Name

So long as they speak your name, you shall never die”
-Dan Brown, Inferno
-Dan Brown, Inferno
Our group, formerly known as HTC Bereaved Parents & Grandparents has changed its name to: JUST SAY THEIR NAME.
We are the parents/grandparents of children who have left this world in an unnatural order – before us. We meet monthly to share our stories, our memories, and to say our beloveds’ names without hesitation.
Too often, we hear that others are reluctant to speak of our children, fearing we will be reminded of the sadness. Nothing could be further from the truth. We will speak their names for as long as we live and know that they are never forgotten.
If these words resonate with you, please join us and share the journey nobody should be on.
Our July 7 gathering, 4:00 pm -5:30 pm, will be held at the home of:

Karaoke Singers (and Potential Singers) Club
Our next club meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd from 6-9 pm. Looking forward to seeing you there.
-------------------------------------------------------
This club meets every first Tuesday, at no charge, at my house from 6-9 pm.
The goal is to promote and enhance singing and performance skills and self-confidence in a supportive group setting. Each member, one by one, selects a song to sing which has been practiced before the club meeting date. Each member sings using our quality microphones and sound system, combined with our Karafun computer program subscription. After the song is performed, group members discuss the positive aspects of the singer’s rendition and share vocal and performance tips, relevant singing experiences, and positive, constructive feedback. Negative feedback is not allowed. Afterwards, the singer may choose to repeat the song or move on to the next singer.
There is no waiting list. Feel free to bring snacks and your choice of beverage, but no appetizers, please. If possible, practice a song you like and want to sing alone or with someone before each meeting.

We continue our transition back to photography basics in 2025. Meeting topics include:
a. June 10th - Lenses and Focal Length. Are you a little confused about what type of lens to use and when to use it? Does your smartphone have more lenses than you think it should have? In June’s meeting, I’ll cover focal lengths, constant aperture lenses, variable aperture lenses, lens compression and distortion, focal length and camera shake, and shutter speed as they apply to your digital camera and smartphone. Bring your camera. Bring your smartphone. And bring your questions.
b. July 8th - Advanced Shooting Techniques: Topics included are auto ISO, back button focus, focus and composition, exposure bracketing/HDR photography, and using the Histogram (everyone’s favorite).
c. Aug 12th - Composition Tips: Topics included are Rule of Thirds, fill the frame, negative space, leading lines, patterns and repetition, frame within a frame, point of view, color, black and white, watch the background, simplify, and find great light
See you June 10th at 6:30 PM in the Blue Sage Room.

Our Facebook group site will give you information on what the Club members are doing. Generally we meet a few times a year for planning purposes and try to have a couple of group camping trips each year. It’s a great place to meet nice people who share a love of camping in our beautiful state and beyond. We are a group of around 40 households, with various levels of RV experience, owning different types of rigs and vehicles for our recreational enjoyment.
To Join: Please contact us on FaceBook or at htcrvclub@gmail.com. We do have a $20 annual dues payable to join and again annually each camping season.
Through our experiences we are building resource information on both websites regarding great camping destinations, campgrounds, help with technical and problem questions, storage solutions, RV insurance, best vehicle service providers, all used and recommended by our members.
To join please contact us online or by email. The only requirements are that you must live in Heritage Todd Creek, own an RV, and be fun loving.

Swedish Weaving Club

Swedish Weaving, also known as Huck Embroidery, is a needle art form that became popular in the late 1940's. It consists of using yarn to create patterns on a specific fabric, monk's cloth
Meeting times:
- Every Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Blue Sage Room
Thank you Heritage Todd Creek residents, friends and anyone who came to the Swedish Weaving's pre-sale and Craft Fair table. We collected $2,335 to donate to K.I.N.D. (Kids In Need of Dentistry). Cathy Gleason and I (Karen Foster) took the donation to their facility today (10-22-24) to present the checks to the Dentist and office workers. We were given a tour of the bright, cheerful, and comfortable rooms where the kids 5-18 have teeth cleanings, x-rays, other procedures, and instructions done in a non-threatening environment.
We are now in the process of discussing next year's weaving and charity. Stay tuned for new weaving options we will offer for sale next fall. Blankets and runners are on display in the craft room display case for you to see our work and if you wish to purchase an item, contact Karen Foster

Travel Club

The Travel Club partners with travel representatives to host presentations throughout the year to learn about exciting trips and excursions for your upcoming vacations! If you would like to be added to the HTC TRAVEL CLUB mailing list or would like more information on upcoming trips, please send an email to lisa.hulbert@frosch.com.

The HTC Wine Club plans and conducts three to four events per year designed to introduce our members to new wines, provide new perspectives on familiar wines, and expand their knowledge and appreciation of all aspects of wine, wine etiquette, and the wine industry.
Activities: A Summer Progressive Wine Tasting at host homes within HTC and a gala Holiday Dinner at the end of the year, plus one or two ad hoc events, normally in Spring and Fall.
The HTC Wine Club promotes responsible wine consumption for personal enjoyment while having fun experiences with our neighbors. In the interest of safety, any off-campus event includes bus transportation.
Membership: One-time $10 fee.
Save the Date! Saturday, June 21, 2025: HTC Wine Club Summer Progressive Wine Dinner
The Wine Club’s Annual Summer Progressive Wine Dinner is always the party of the summer! This year’s theme, “Northwest Passage,” will feature wines from Oregon and Washington carefully curated by your Wine Club Board of Directors in conjunction with a Certified Sommelier.
Food pairings representative of the Northwest will enhance your comparison of two different wines served with each of the three courses (six different wines total.)
Participants will “progress” through the evening to enjoy each course at a different host home. The after party will bring everyone together for a sweet bite and more of the wines enjoyed at dinner!
If you would like to be a host this year, contact any Board member with your questions. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is!
This event is for Wine Club members only.

Wine and Dine Group

CASUAL MONTHLY GET-TOGETHER
The Wine and Dine Group meets the 2nd Saturday of every month. This is a casual get-together with 10-12 people at residents' homes. Everyone brings a HEARTY appetizer and a bottle of wine to share. If you are not a wine drinker, no problem, just bring your beverage of choice. This is not meant to be a wine group - the emphasis is on getting to meet "new" people, not on the wine. Members of this group need to host a minimum of 2 times a year.

FALL 2025 WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
All women in HTC are invited to join the Fall 2025 Bible study: “WHEN YOU PRAY: A Study of Six Prayers in the Bible”
by Kelly Minter, Jackie Hill Perry, Jen Wilkin, Jennifer Rothschild, Jada Edwards, and Kristi McLelland
Prayer is a gift—an invitation to talk with God. But prayer can also be a challenge. Do you have trouble thinking of words to say, fear some emotions are too intense to express to God, or reach the end of the day only to realize you haven’t prayed at all. You’re not alone. Thankfully, in God’s word we encounter many voices who teach us how to pray. In this study, six beloved Bible teachers will help you study prayers in the Bible that can inspire your own. You’ll find that when you pray, your faith is strengthened, and your heart is united to Jesus.
- The study is 7 weeks long, encompassing weekly class sessions using a study book with daily lessons and a weekly video teaching that will be viewed in class.
- Thursdays, September 11 - October 23 OR Fridays, September 12 - October 24
- HTC Clubhouse
Here is the Amazon link to the study book which also includes personal video access. You are highly encouraged to order the book before the last minute as Amazon has been known to run out.
If you would like to attend, contact Deb Erickson to register or if you have questions. PLEASE SPECIFY THE THURSDAY OR FRIDAY CLASS.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—WINTER 2025
All women in HTC are invited to join the Winter 2025 Bible study:
“JAMES: Discovering God’s Delight in a Lived-Out Faith”
by Sue Edwards
The first-century letter of James is a powerful call to action for every Christian. James demands that we allow our faith to impact every area of our lives and encourages us to overcome the bad habits and sinful patterns that drag us down. The good news is that when you walk with God and truly live out your faith, you find real joy—both for the Lord and for yourself.
o The study is 8 weeks long encompassing weekly class sessions using a study book with daily lessons.
o Thursdays, February 6—March 27, 2025
o OR Fridays, February 7—March 28, 2025
o 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM
o HTC Clubhouse
Here is the Amazon link for the study book.
If you would like to attend, contact Deb Erickson to register or if you have questions. Please specify either the Thursday OR Friday morning class.
