Secondly the service will bring the living Word of God to a simple service time for my neighbors in HTC and help to create relationships and encouragement with our neighbors that enables us to help identify their needs. We will focus on both spiritual and physical needs of our neighbors by connecting their needs to willing neighbors who would assist in filling those needs.
Our community is place of great opportunity to show the goodness of God by helping our neighbors in their times of need.

Guitar Club
The idea for a “Guitar Club” is to bring people together to learn some, play some, and have fun!
You can be new to guitar, somewhat experienced, very experienced, or haven’t played for awhile. In fact, you don’t need to own a guitar to join! Hopefully, if you are a new player or do not have a guitar, this piques your interest in a very versatile instrument that can be enjoyed for years! A very relaxed and fun atmosphere is the goal. We may learn some songs to play together! Learn at your own pace. Those who wish to, may get together at other times in smaller groups as well!
No formal “plan” for the club otherwise at this point. It can evolve as we get to know each other and with the desires of the club members. Schedule (TBD). Considering a monthly (2 hour slot that you can get to at any time to join in ) get together formally and on your own otherwise.
The FIRST meet-and-greet is scheduled October 22, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in Larkspur

To facilitate communication we have a Facebook Group Page if you are interested.
View the full 2024 Hike Schedule HERE
The hiking club schedules hikes between from mid-April to mid-October. We meet in the clubhouse parking lot to carpool to the trailhead. Most of the scheduled hikes are rated as moderate with a shorter option available for many of the hikes. It is the responsibility of each hiker to know their own limits and come prepared. An email will be sent to each member the week before the hike with meeting time, hike details, and directions. This information will also be published in the Tuesday E-Blast. To be added to our mailing list or for questions please contact Amy Downey at amyjdowney53@gmail.com.
We have created a list of club guidelines which we hope will be helpful!
- No club meetings, no dues
- Hike schedule runs between mid-April and late October. Schedules may be adjusted due to weather, trail conditions, road conditions, and hike leader availability.
- You are responsible for determining your readiness for the harder hikes. You should be at least moderately fit. Some hikes will be at high elevations with elevation gain and rocky conditions. Know your limitations and put safety first!
- Hike descriptions will be emailed to club members by the hike leader and will also be posted in the weekly club news e-blast. When possible there will be an easier alternative to the harder hikes. This information will also be included in emails and the club e-blast.
- Carpooling is encouraged. We meet at the clubhouse parking lot for each hike. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time for organizing carpooling. It is recommended you offer your driver at least $5 to help cover gas, entry fees, and road tolls. If an alternative hike is offered try to carpool with a driver doing the same hike as you.
- Each hike will have a hike leader who will determine departure time, send out the information email, and ensure all hikers are accounted for. If you determine you cannot finish a hike you MUST advise the hike leader or sweep and have someone accompany you back to the trailhead/ parking area.
- Expect some early departure times due to heat, crowded trail conditions, parking availability and the threat of afternoon thunderstorms.
- Be prepared! Bring plenty of water, snacks, rain gear, sunscreen, etc. Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear. Many of us also find hiking poles helpful. Download or bring trail maps as some trails are marked more clearly than others. Helpful apps for trail information include All Trails and COTREX.
- Be respectful! Carry all trash out with you and stay on established trails to avoid erosion. Be respectful of wildlife and follow good trail etiquette.
- Have fun!! Hiking isn’t always easy but it IS always worth it.

Just Say Their Name
So long as they speak your name, you shall never die”
-Dan Brown, Inferno
-Dan Brown, Inferno
Our group, formerly known as HTC Bereaved Parents & Grandparents has changed its name to: JUST SAY THEIR NAME.
We are the parents/grandparents of children who have left this world in an unnatural order – before us. We meet monthly to share our stories, our memories, and to say our beloveds’ names without hesitation.
Too often we hear that others are reluctant to speak of our children, fearing we will be reminded of the sadness. Nothing could be further from the truth. We will speak their names for as long as we live and know that they are never forgotten.
If these words resonate with you, please join us and share the journey nobody should be on.

Generally we meet a few times a year for planning purposes and try to have a couple of group camping trips each year. It’s a great place to meet nice people who share a love of camping in our beautiful state and beyond. We are a group of around 40 households, with various levels of RV experience, owning different types of rigs and vehicles for our recreational enjoyment.
To Join: Please contact us on FaceBook or at htcrvclub@gmail.com. We do have a $20 annual dues payable to join and again annually each camping season.
Through our experiences we are building resource information on both websites regarding great camping destinations, campgrounds, help with technical and problem questions, storage solutions, RV insurance, best vehicle service providers, all used and recommended by our members.
To join please contact us online or by email. The only requirements are that you must live in Heritage Todd Creek, own an RV, and be fun loving.

Singers Only Club
This weekly group is for those who would like to sing or begin singing karaoke every 2 weeks at Sally and Roy Langlois house. We have excellent sound and karaoke systems, along with quality microphones. The difference between this singing club and karaoke only is that after each one signs up for their song choice, then sings according to their order in the singer queue. After that club members who wish to do so will give any suggestions, constructive feedback they have to offer and always support, to help the singer improve the voice, projection, tonal quality of the voice, lowering or raising the key of the music, and/or more. Roy and I are far from perfect singers. We have a lot to learn, and we want feedback, too. So we’ll be participating as well. Negative feedback of any kind will not be accepted. The singer can then either choose to repeat their song for further feedback or return to the queue of singers.
In HTC, there are so many singers and would-be singers of all kinds of talent that we cannot invite everyone to attend every club meeting. As long as there is enough interest, we can ONLY invite up to 10 club members (plus one) per week. This would allow everyone on the waiting list to attend and get a chance to sing and get individual feedback and encouragement. If there is time left in each meeting, we can each sign up for another song and repeat the procedure.
The following week will be those members who are on the waiting list to attend the club meetings, and on and on. Then we’ll repeat with the first invited singers, plus anyone who joins later as we continue each meeting.
We request that each person bring an appetizer to share and their own beverage to the weekly group. The group should last about 2 hrs each week.
We believe that everyone can sing or learn to sing at least one song well.
Join our club and let’s see if we can help you sing one song or more through karaoke music.
If you are interested joining please email me at sallylangwah@gmail.com or call me at 352-212-4285.
Please let me know which day of the week and time you prefer. We will set the day and time according to the majority of respondent’s choice.

Swedish Weaving Club
Swedish Weaving, also known as Huck Embroidery, is a needle art form that became popular in the late 1940's. It consists of using yarn to create patterns on a specific fabric, monk's cloth
Meeting times:
- Every Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Blue Sage Room
Thank you Heritage Todd Creek residents, friends and anyone who came to the Swedish Weaving's pre-sale and Craft Fair table. We collected $2,335 to donate to K.I.N.D. (Kids In Need of Dentistry). Cathy Gleason and I (Karen Foster) took the donation to their facility today (10-22-24) to present the checks to the Dentist and office workers. We were given a tour of the bright, cheerful, and comfortable rooms where the kids 5-18 have teeth cleanings, x-rays, other procedures, and instructions done in a non-threatening environment.
We are now in the process of discussing next year's weaving and charity. Stay tuned for new weaving options we will offer for sale next fall. Blankets and runners are on display in the craft room display case for you to see our work and if you wish to purchase an item, contact Karen Foster

If you would like to be added to the HTC TRAVEL CLUB mailing list or would like more information on upcoming trips, please send an email to lisa.hulbert@frosch.com.

CASUAL MONTHLY GET-TOGETHER
The Wine and Dine Group meets the 2nd Saturday of every month. This is a casual get-together with 10-12 people at residents' homes. Everyone brings a HEARTY appetizer and a bottle of wine to share. If you are not a wine drinker, no problem, just bring your beverage of choice. This is not meant to be a wine group - the emphasis is on getting to meet "new" people, not on the wine. “NO OTHER GODS: The Unrivaled Pursuit of Christ” by Kelly Minter
We often think of idols as ancient graven images or golden calves, but God’s people still battle idolatry every day. Our idols look more familiar—money, fame, power, work, ministry, and people. As you identify your modern-day idols and dethrone them, you’ll discover that Jesus can do what no other god can.
o The study is 8 weeks long and includes a weekly video and class sessions using a study book with daily lessons.
o Thursdays, September 12—October 31, 2024
o OR Fridays, September 13—November 1, 2024
o 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM
o HTC Clubhouse

“JAMES: Discovering God’s Delight in a Lived-Out Faith”

The first-century letter of James is a powerful call to action for every Christian. James demands that we allow our faith to impact every area of our lives and encourages us to overcome the bad habits and sinful patterns that drag us down. The good news is that when you walk with God and truly live out your faith, you find real joy—both for the Lord and for yourself.
o The study is 8 weeks long encompassing weekly class sessions using a study book with daily lessons.
o Thursdays, February 6—March 27, 2025
