Location:
Time: 12pm to 3pm
Description:
HTC Bike Club Special Announcements

The HTC Bike Club is on the road again…

On August 19, we will begin in beautiful Dillon (about an hour and 45-minute drive from HTC). We’ll meet in the parking lot of the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge at noon. We’ll hop on our bikes and ride around the Dillon Reservoir, which includes climbing Swan Mountain. This 20-mile ride is mostly on paved trail. Please note that this ride has ~1,100 feet of climbing.

After the ride, we’ll get together for a cocktail hour and group dinner in a downtown restaurant or we’ll order in food. You can make overnight accommodations at the Best Western Ptarmigan Lodge or other nearby hotels.

On August 20, we will drive to Kayak Overnight Parking in Frisco (6 miles from the Best Western). We’ll meet there at 9:30 AM and ride the scenic bike trail to Fremont Pass and return the way we came. We may stop at the Copper Mountain ski area for ice cream and refreshments. This is a 20-mile ride on paved trail with significant elevation gain. We’ll finish around noon.

If you plan to join us, please make your hotel reservation and let one of our leaders know by August 1.

On September 16, we’ll start in beautiful Basalt (about a three and a half hour’s drive from HTC). We’ll meet in the parking lot of Basalt Highschool at 12:30 PM.  We’ll hop on our bikes and ride the Rio Grande trail from Basalt to Woody Creek and return the way we came. This is an easy 22-mile ride on paved trail.

After the ride, we’ll check in to a hotel and get together for a cocktail hour and group dinner.

On September 17, we will drive to Aspen’s Henry Stein Park. We’ll meet there at 10:00 AM and ride to Maroon Lake at the foot of the beautiful Maroon Bells. This is a 22-mile, scenic, out-and-back ride on paved trail and quiet road. An e-bike is highly recommended as the climb to Maroon Lake is over 2,000 feet. We’ll finish around 1 PM. There is a small fee to ride the road to Maroon Lake.

If you plan to join us, please let a leader know by August 1.

Please note: Bike Club leaders will scout these rides in early August and provide participants with updated information on hotels, the rides, parking areas and fee.
