Indoor Triathlon

 
Ring in the New Year with a new personal challenge! The indoor triathlon is a 5 week challenge - January 9 through February 12 - consisting of 3 methods of exercise: 6.2 miles of running or walking, 25 miles of cycling, and 1 mile of swimming (see chart below for conversions). The goal is to complete at least 1 triathlon during the 5 week challenge, but you may complete as many triathlons as you are able during the challenge. There will be prizes awarded to each participant who completes a full triathlon!

WEEKLY LOGS AND PROGRESS
Click HERE to download a weekly log to track your miles. Total the distances you completed in miles. When the totals add up to a full triathlon turn in the sheet to the Front Desk to add your name to the list of superstars who have completed a triathlon so we can cheer for you! If the week’s totals do not add up to a full triathlon, you may keep transferring totals to the next week until a full triathlon is completed. Complete as many triathlons as you can in the 5-week challenge!

If you aren't able to complete any of the exercises you can use the conversion chart below to make the challenge work for you. Remember, this is a personal challenge so do what you can. It's all about getting you up and moving your body!

HOW MANY LAPS IN THE POOL IS A MILE?
Our HTC pool is 50' in length. When you do the math, 1 mile equals 53 laps (down and back equals 1 lap). If you are swimming your laps at another pool you'll need to ask the measurements of the pool and convert that to miles. Contact us if you have any questions calculating your swim miles.
 
DOES IT HAVE TO BE INDOORS?
Not at all. We probably won't be doing any outdoor swimming this time of year but on the nicer days if you prefer to run/walk or bike outside it absolutely counts!
