The HTC Dancers held our Annual Flashmob event on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in the ballroom followed by a Just 4 Fun dance in the afternoon We performed our Flashmob dances for the International Line Dance Foundation 2016 event which features line dancers all over the world. This our 6th Flashmob event and this year we performed three dances. One the dances, Everybody Dance, performed by Karen Hermanson’s class, was a Charity Dance which supports line dancers in need all over the world. We collected $160.00 to donate to the charity. Many thanks to all the dancers who joined us this year.
Please enjoy our videos of the dances:

Planet Peeps - Your Recipe for Recycling with Republic
Monday, June 1st, 2026, All Day Event
Your RECIPE for RECYCLING with REPUBLIC
REMEMBER to DO:
A. Send them ALL of your aluminum — they can actually SELL it!
B. Leave to lids/caps ON all of your plastic containers. Republic accepts plastic types of #1 through #7.
C. Include all types of dry paper; like newspapers, junk mail, envelopes, copy paper, and cardboard boxes.
AVOID:
A. DO NOT place your recyclables in plastic bags. Commingle it loosely in your Republic recycling bin.
B. NEVER send them shredded paper. Those tiny shreds are too small and simply gum up their machinery!
C. NO CLOTHING! Cloth and threads tangle up their machinery.
D. NO wires nor thin ropes/twine nor plastic wrapping strips. These long thin items, like Christas lights, clog the machinery and bring the plant to a standstill.
E. NO heavy metal like car parts, gears, wheel rims, nor tools. Recycle your heavier metal items at Thornton’s IMC at Washington St/126th.
NEW info to consider:
A. Items do NOT need to be totally clean. Some residue or grease is acceptable. The following times CAN be recycled if large food remains/residue is removed: Aluminum foil: Totally FINE! Remove reside & wad up into balls Paper plates: Also good! Remove large food scraps Cardboard pizza boxes: YES! Greasy is OK, remove cheese or topping residue
B. Republic does recycle glass — of ALL colors. However, they are obtaining new equipment that will make this easier by the Fall of 202

It is a combination of face exercises, face massage, face acupressure and face relaxation. Face Yoga helps to naturally soften face and neck lines. It relaxes the mind, body and face. To help people feel the best versions of themselves. Many of these techniques and practices originate from India, Japan and China. They have been passed down for thousands of years, generation to generation. It has been proven time and time again. I also teach via Zoom.

Face Yoga is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier. With an added sense of relaxation and wellbeing.
Cost is $10 per class

Estate Sale Services - Hosted by RaNae Sevier
Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, 10am to 11am at Blue Sage
Many residents have come to the HTC estate sales and have asked me how they work and what they can do to get information. My gals are AMAZING! They will share the concept, dos and don'ts and what an "Estate Sale" involves. Anyone can have an estate sale... not just for those that have passed. These gals will share lots of great information for those residents that are overwhelmed with having our community garage sale and those that are ready to get rid of stuff now or in the future.

Today's Topic: WWII
2025 marked the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII with the defeat of Hitler’s Germany on May 8th (V-E Day) and the defeat of Hirohito’s Japan on August 14th (V-J Day). Join Active Minds as we explore the origins, the progression and the conclusion of a war that defined the 20th Century. We will also examine its lasting legacy a generation later.
Free to attend; please RSVP below to reserve your spot!
About Active Minds:
Active Minds started in 2002 as a series of poetry classes in a church basement in Denver. Before long, it grew to include other courses focusing on contemporary global issues, historical themes, and other matters of importance. The original audience was primarily senior citizens, but over time Active Minds has grown to serve adults of all ages through programming at book stores, libraries, and corporations. Today Active Minds provides programming to over 200 organizations and has over 30 highly qualified instructors on staff. John Henderson and Zane Robertson formed Active Minds out of a deeply felt belief that lifelong learning is central to a life well lived. We are inspired by members of our own families who embodied this spirit and dedicate this work to them.
