Keynote Speaker: because I said I would
Thursday, March 20th, 2025, 6pm to 7pm at Ballroom

Join us for an inspiring keynote presentation by Alex Sheen!

Alex Sheen is the founder of because I said I would, a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. Sparked by the loss of his father, Alex and his organization send “promise cards” to anyone anywhere in the world at no cost. Alex is someone who truly honors commitment. He once walked over 240 miles across the entire state of Ohio in 10 days to fulfill a promise. In just two years, because I said I would has sent over 12.3 million promise cards to over 153 different countries. The promises written on these cards have made headlines around the world. Alex is a five-time Tedx Talk speaker and his charitable work has been featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, CNN, The Today Show, NPR, The Los Angeles Times and many other programs.

About the Camp
One of the most heartfelt initiatives led by Alex Sheen and his nonprofit, because I said I would, is a special camp designed to support families coping with the profound grief of losing a loved one. This camp provides a safe and nurturing space where families can find healing, connection, and hope during one of life’s most challenging journeys.

The camp features therapeutic workshops, family bonding activities, and legacy-building exercises to help participants process their loss while finding strength and purpose. With a focus on fostering resilience and honoring the memory of loved ones, this program empowers families to move forward with hope and renewed connection.

In this keynote, Alex will share:
  • The origins and global impact of because I said I would.
  • Inspirational stories of individuals and families transformed by keeping their promises.
  • Insights into how promises, big or small, can strengthen relationships, foster healing, and drive change.
  • A closer look at the camp for grieving families and its role in helping participants navigate loss while building a meaningful path forward.
Prepare to be moved by Alex Sheen’s authentic and compassionate storytelling as he explores the profound impact of promises. Whether you’re seeking inspiration, looking to honor a loved one, or curious about how commitment can shape lives, this event will leave you deeply touched and empowered.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would, and learn how the simple act of keeping a promise can transform lives and bring hope to those in need.
