WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY—FALL 2024
 
All women in HTC are invited to join the Fall 2024 Bible study.  
“NO OTHER GODS: The Unrivaled Pursuit of Christ” by Kelly Minter
We often think of idols as ancient graven images or golden calves, but God’s people still battle idolatry every day.  Our idols look more familiar—money, fame, power, work, ministry, and people.  As you identify your modern-day idols and dethrone them, you’ll discover that Jesus can do what no other god can.
 
o   The study is 8 weeks long and includes a weekly video and class sessions using a study book with daily lessons.
o   Thursdays, September 12—October 31, 2024
o   OR Fridays, September 13—November 1, 2024
o   9:30 AM until 11:30 AM

Everyday Spanish for Beginner & Advanced Beginners

Are you ready to take your Spanish skills to the next level? Converse more with the Spanish-speaking people here in Colorado? Handle yourself better while visiting a Spanish-speaking country?
Designed for the beginner and advanced beginner, this course provides you with an opportunity to read, write, and speak Spanish together with others learning right alongside you. Working in pairs, you will be able to maximize the opportunity to practice Spanish in a supportive environment from the very first day in class.
 
Students who previously attended the course Everyday Spanish for Beginners in January and February of 2024 are encouraged to attend this course as well. We will begin with a review of the first four chapters of the book and then continue to study Chapters 5 through 7. If you did not attend the first six-week session of the course, do not hesitate to jump in now. We will catch you up on what you missed.
  • 6-week Spanish class from October 14 through November 21.
  • Mondays: 10:00 am - 11:00 am in Larkspur
  • Thursdays: 11:45 am - 12:45 pm in Blue Sage EXCEPT November 7 will be in Larkspur.
  • Cost is $120 per student

INSTRUCTOR BIO    Kathy Lamos, now retired, has worked in higher education for many years, teaching classes in English as a Second Language and Spanish and working in administrative positions. She has also taught adult Spanish classes at Colorado Free University and the Academy for Lifelong Learning. She enjoys learning and teaching Spanish, travel, and getting the chance to learn more about countries and people with diverse cultures and perspectives on the world.

Billiards Club Drop-In Open Play

The Billiards Club has reserved the Billiards Room for drop-in open play on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. All residents are welcome to play during this time.

Strength and Performance for Golfers with Jarrod Holt

Attention All Golfers! Are you looking to step up your game, prevent injuries, and continue playing the game you love? Look no further! This specialized workout consists of multiple different factors. Starting with a full body golf-specific warm-up that consists of targeting major muscle groups. Then moving on to golf-specific exercises to enhance each phase of your stroke. Lastly, we will finish with mobility work to keep your body moving well, and playing injury free. Now is a great time to get started as we transition into fall and winter. This course is offered during the golf season to keep yourself sharp, as well as during the winter to strengthen your skills before the next season.

Trivia at The Grill

It's time to pull out your thinking caps, HTC!  We're hosting another trivia night but with a new twist: Trivia is now a joint partnership event with The Grill! With colder weather approaching, The Grill is graciously allowing us to keep the trivia rolling inside the restaurant.
 
Challenge Entertainment will test your knowledge on a variety of subjects! Each table will be a team, and you get to discuss your answers to each question over the length of a song to come up with your final answer, which will be turned in. They'll keep score and our winning team will win a prize! Of course, the REAL prize is getting to spend an evening with your friends and neighbors!
